Pioneer is a large—scale open-world survival-shooter project being developed by the Russian studio GFA Games (former employees of 4A Games who worked on the Metro series). The game takes place on post-apocalyptic islands, where elements of Slavic folklore, man-made disasters and anomalous phenomena are mixed. Players will have to survive in a dangerous world, explore locations, fight mutants and other stalkers, and uncover the dark secrets of the archipelago.

The gameplay of Pioneer combines the classic mechanics of survival games (hunger, thirst, radiation, crafting) with dynamic shootouts, cooperative playthroughs (up to 4 players) and a non-linear plot where decisions affect the ending. The world is populated by both hostile creatures and NPC factions, with whom you can trade or conflict. Special attention is paid to the atmosphere — gloomy graphics, detailed locations and sound design create a feeling of immersion in a chaotic world after a disaster.

The official release date of Pioner has not yet been announced, but the game is being developed for PC (Steam) and next-generation consoles.
