Choose a role: tank (in front), damage (shooting), support (healing). Lucio or Mercy are suitable for beginners. Stick to the team — don't get involved in a fight outnumbered. Combine ults with allies, don't use them alone. Explore the first-aid kits on the maps and the abilities of the enemies. Try out different characters in quick matches.
